The most important rule of our Club is:-
ENDEAVOUR TO MAKE A CONTRIBUTION, MAKE NEW FRIENDS AND ABOVE ALL ELSE -- ENJOY YOURSELF
Our Branch Club
Here at the Arbroath Branch Club, we try to cater for the needs of our members, guests & visitors as well as those still serving in the forces. We try to be active in the community and assist where we can best fulfill the need. We make every attempt to make the lives' of our 'senior' members more comfortable and pleasant while not ignoring the needs of our many other members. We have an active sporting section that arranges activities internally and with other clubs, such as pool, darts, bowls, dominoes, cribbage, golf etc., some being bus trips away from the club for a days outing. We also cater for people with disabilities etc., in terms of wheelchair access to all ground level areas at the moment with disabled toilet facilities. We take pride in our club, come along and make use of our facilities, and remember, guests of members & visitors are always welcome. We have excellent bar facilities which offer a large range of alcoholic & non alcoholic beverages at very competitive prices - open daily from 11am. We are still looking into the viability of providing some sort of catering facility, i.e. bar snacks, bar meals and possibly Friday & Saturday evening meals.
Our Bar Facilities are:
The bar area at the Club Incorporates 4 bars, The Sports bar, Lounge bar, Dance hall bar and the upstairs bar. We have bands every Saturday night (when the bar remains open until midnight) details of which can be found on our Calendar page. There are also 2 pool tables and two gaming machines along with two dartboards in the Sports bar. The 42" Plasma TV in the Sports bar is available for watching sports events and other programs as required. Please note we do not have Sky or Setanta. Too expensive and does not generate enough big crowds watching sports to warrant this.
Social Events:
Many social events are hosted by the
Club, and they feature a variety of 'normal' functions as well as a
variety of 'others'. Rest assured, all are great fun and well
worth coming along to.
The lounge during quiet times can be used for playing cards and other activities or just to sit somewhere quiet and maybe read a newspaper or a book from our small library.
We try to provide a Warm, welcoming and dependable Club which is Safe, clean and comfortable, always good fun and consistently a fair deal and value for money. We also try to provide a sense of belonging & comradeship with roots in the Community. A home to the local Branch, Active members, Poppy support and a home base for the many Associations and Clubs that use our facilities.
Lodge Rooms:
This facility is our newest acquisition, and we have owned it for approx 3 years. The Arbroath Pipe-Band RBLS use it for their HQ and practice nights etc and the Lodge 101 still use it for their meetings and various functions. This building incorporates a bar area (At Legion Prices) with draught & bottled Beers/Lagers/Spirits and non - alcoholic drinks, also pool table and gaming machine, plus toilets, a small lounge area with TV, hall, IDEAL for functions/disco's etc and a small kitchen for preparing tea, coffee & buffets etc. At present plans are in to sort out the front garden, possibly make it into a beer garden for the Summer or good weather. We also have plans for developing the internal structure and upgrading to make the best use of it.
