Green Street hall

Our official opening of the Green Street Hall RBLS was conducted by our friend the Lord Lieutenant of Angus Georgiana Osborne, on Saturday 24th October 2009. We have given this building a modern, refurbished facility providing much needed hall space for our expanding functions. Some photos of the internal workings can be seen here, I hope you all can make out the orbs floating about, Haunted most Live watch out.

We acquired this building about four years ago from the 101 Mason's but sorely needed to be updated and upgraded. Although we ran the building as was until our Branch & Club Committee's agreed to upgrade and find an Architect, Contractors etc it was not fairing too well but just ticking over. We found an Architect  (Brian Summers) and we found a local Contractor (M & H Joiners) who had various local Sub-Contractors to help out, we can only say a big thank you to one and all on the magnificent outcome of the internal workings of this building. A lot of hard work went into this by one and all and not forgetting our own Club Manager (Scott Berrie) who carefully co-ordinated the many needs of a modern bar.

The lounge will be known as the Buick Lounge, after local man David Dunbar Buick who was born in Green Street who left Arbroath with his parents to the USA and founded the Buick Car Company (now General Motors). We decided to call our lounge after him because there is a commemorative plaque on the outside of the wall of this the last standing building which was part of Green Street before demolition.

Please note that these photos were taken approximately 10:10 am on a Saturday morning and there is no trick photography reference these orbs.

The photos below are the finished project, some of the photos are not too good here, bad lighting/camera.
